Responding to Alaskans who have poor internet access in rural areas of the state, the recall announces a toll-free number to make requesting a mail-in petition easier.
“If Alaskans aren’t able to go online for any reason to request a petition, they can now simply call 866-SIGN4AK — 866-744-6425 — and an agent can take all the information required to get a booklet in the mail to them immediately,” said communications manager Beth Short-Rhoads.
The recall receives a number of calls each day on the new line. “People are really grateful to have this option,” Short-Rhoads said. “They’re relieved they can fully participate in the recall effort and do their part to save Alaska.”
